The Patient who gave me ultimate smile on my face!

Well, I am talking about around one decade back story.  I still remember, I was sitting in Skin OPD of KEM hospital along with my friend Dr. Veeral Aliporwala. KEM hospital of Mumbai is one of the most trusted names in field of medical science. We used to get patients just not from Mumbai or Maharashtra but from almost each and every part of the great India. It was around 2:30 in afternoon. We were about to go for lunch break . . .

We heard some loud noise, which was coming out from lobby area. We rushed there  . . . one typical Maharashtra guy with his daughter was requesting for consultation. .

Initially we found guy is really annoying than we have realized he is coming from very small remote area of interior Maharashtra and being waiting since morning. No food, No water only long hours waiting made him angry and upset. He was along with very timid and shy girl who had covered her eyes with sunglasses. We get all sort of people in such public place. Initially we didn’t paid much attention to her outfit and sunglasses. . .

Veeral is always being really kind he decided to take consultation of that patient and sacrificing his lunch  . . . It is common for Doctor , by the way.

I thought will just accompany him . . . The moment girl removed her glasses we were shocked.

She was having very thin and fragile eyebrows. . . .

Just one of the click. . . .

I was just wondering “What can we do it for her?

As she already tried all possible sorts of medicine right from Allopathic to Home remedies.  .  .

After long discussion, we decided to go ahead with Eyebrow transplant.

Girl was listening everything very carefully but there was no communication from her side. She only used to whisper in her father’s ear after our talk.  I thought probably as she is from small place she is bit shy.

We went ahead with all preoperative blood investigations and required things as per protocol.

Surgery went off well, I completed my posting . . .  started my private practice in Borivali , Mumbai.

To be honest . . . . I never thought about that timid girl again in my life.

One day when I just started my clinic in morning hours. .   One young lay came with sweet in one hand and small baby in another hand. I was unable to recognize her but charm in her eyes, smile on her face made was talking lot more.

Then she told me, she is the same girl for whom we performed eye brow transplant few years back.

She was in deed very happy.

Her lasts sentence made my day.. .  .

“Doctor, you changed my life, God bless you. Was unable to pay  anything to you at that time but now god has given  enough to me , small gift from me . . . it was a gold chain .

Undoubtedly, I did not accept. But that was a day I realized if you do something good to someone it come back to you in same way. People do remember.

She is beautiful lady now. .  Full of confidence and working with bank. . .
